Essay One: Tuck students can articulate how the distinctive Tuck MBA will advance their aspirations. Why are you pursuing an MBA and why Tuck? (300 words)
As obvious this essay has the most important question in it: why us and not another business school? You have to write post MBA goals and how Tuck and you collectively work together towards your goals and how you will help the Tuck community grow. For this, try the following structure:
- Keep in mind that this question is simply both for short and long-term goals, so make sure you answer your short term goals considering your long-term route in mind. Your short-term goal profession should ideally transition to your long-term goal career, and an MBA degree is required for both courses.
- Then coming to the second part of the question, you must consider how you will use and engage with Tuck’s resources to seek and achieve your objectives. Look for meaningful connections between your interests and goals and the things you plan to engage in, not just a few program options.
- Make sure you list down the things both ways i.e. how Tuck’s resources will help you attain your goals, and on the other side how will you help Tuck’s community to grow and prosper. You’re basically breaking things down into a give-and-take scenario.
You will be able to answer this question fully and confidently if you conduct thorough research about your career path and the possibilities available at Tuck.
Essay Two: Tuck students recognize how their individuality adds to the fabric of Tuck. Tell us who you are. (300 words)
This essay is an excellent opportunity to discuss how you encourage others. How have you invested in the people in your life? And what are you going to do to bring that quality to Tuck? Finally, by contacting current students and alumni, you will gain a better understanding of the Tuck experience. Consider the experiences that already have shaped you after you have grasped Tuck. This essay is an excellent opportunity to discuss some of your past achievements that involved others. For example, describe your experiences in various communities whatever you’ve contributed or learned from them. Describe your experiences to demonstrate your awareness of yourself and others.
Essay Three: Tuck students are encouraging, collaborative and empathetic, even when it is not convenient or easy. Describe a meaningful experience in which you exemplified one or more of these attributes. (300 words)
Tuck is a team-oriented environment. It is critical to be an inspiring person who wants to grow others, and this essay is another opportunity to demonstrate that quality. This essay can demonstrate your personality and teamwork abilities. Consider times when you decided to invest in the success of another person, even if it was inconvenient. Perhaps you assisted a coworker. Or perhaps you assisted someone who was unable to reciprocate. In a low-stakes surroundings, it is simple to assist others. It’s difficult to be inspiring when it doesn’t directly benefit you. Follow a structure of Course-Action-Results here.
Optional Essay: Please provide any additional insight or information that you have not addressed elsewhere and may be helpful in reviewing your application (e.g., unusual choice of evaluators, weaknesses in academic performance, unexplained job gaps or changes, etc.). Complete this question only if you feel your candidacy is not fully represented by this application. (300 words)
Tuck makes several recommendations for what to include within this essay. This optional essay gives you the opportunity to explain anything which is unclear in your application. Furthermore, any explanation should also include the reasons why you will excel in your college programs at Tuck. Finally, keep in mind that you should never use the optional essay if the information in your application is self-explanatory.
- You may use this place to highlight any extenuating circumstances that you would like the Admissions Committee to consider (e.g. unexplained gaps in job experience, recommender selection, inconsistent or questionable academic performance, areas of weakness, etc.).
- Disciplinary action in undergrad could also be an important topic. Begin by simply and briefly stating the problem. Then, illustrate how you’ve improved and addressed any concerns using evidence.
- Furthermore, if you have a gap in your work experience, this is the spot to fill it. As a result, describe what you’ve been doing during the break. Also, take the time to explain rather than excuse.
- Finally, talk about how you want to keep the momentum going.
